Product Review: Malika Jafrin Kabuki Brush

Hey guys!

I wanted to do a quick review of a Malika Jafrin Flat Top Kabuki makeup brush I received. Prior to this I had never heard of this brand but I later discovered the brand owner, Malika Jafrin, is an International celebrity Makeup Artist – her work is beautiful! I received this brush at a discounted price in exchange for my honest review. Here are the components I usually look for in products I am interested in: Quality, Packaging, Price/Affordability and Clarity of Instructions.

Quality
Let me just say this brush is amazing! It feels very similar and even better than some of my “high end” brushes. It is very well made, the handle is very sturdy and the brush  itself is very soft but not too soft and at the same time dense enough to apply liquid foundation and creams. I just washed the brush and there was absolutely no shedding (this is a huge plus!). Overall, I’m amazed with the quality!

Packaging
I truly believe packaging sells a product – the better the packaging, the more attractive it is to buyers. I am guilty of purchasing a number of products based on the packaging. As for this kabuki brush, it came neatly packaged in a stiff, sturdy ziploc bag with the brush placed on top of the instruction manual as pictured. I think the packaging is very pleasing to the eye and is not ‘over done’.

Price/Affordability
As I’ve mentioned I received this at a discounted price; however, the listed price on Amazon is £10.97 which is equivalent to $17.27. Honestly, based on the quality and the functionality I definitely think it is worth the price. In terms of the company being new and trying to establish itself I think it would be wise to lower the price.

Instructions
The brush came with a very detailed instruction manual with a photo of each brush from the collection along with a brief description of the brush and what it should be used for. It also includes washing instructions which I think is a great idea – it is always good to learn different techniques.

Overall, I would give this brush ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars and I recommend it to anyone who may be into makeup or looking for a good kabuki brush. You can purchase on Amazon at: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kabuki-Makeup-Malika-Jafrin-Artist/dp/B00RY9Q1OO

Until next time guys!

Birch box Review – June 2015!

photo 5

I subscribed to my first Birchbox a few weeks ago during a promo period in which I was able to snag one for $1! For those of you who aren’t familiar with Birchbox – it is a monthly subscription beauty box that usually contains five samples. Buyers can choose from a male or female box. I usually love beauty boxes because it gives me a chance to sample different beauty products I normally wouldn’t purchase. It is also a good way for me to discover new products I like before purchasing full sizes.

Right now, there are 3 different female beauty boxes advertised for the month of June.  I received the “Say Yes” box. My box came with (5) sample products as well as a bonus pack of hair ties!

The first product I received was a COOLA organic sunscreen. The description says it is sweat-proof, water resistant for 80 minutes and contains SPF 50! The fragrance is Fresh Mango (and smells amazing) and size wise it is .5 fl oz. I have tried this out and it is something I will definitely use this summer. It applies very smooth and evenly and is not ‘cakey’ like some sunscreens tend to be. I also love the fact that it is organic and at the same time smells so good and also the SPF 50 will provide good protection against the sun.

The next product I received is a Marcelle Waterproof Eyeliner. I haven’t tried this yet but the color is a very beautiful Electric Blue and a huge plus that it is waterproof and hypo-allergenic!

Another product I received is by Real Chemistry. It is a 3-minute peel. I am excited to try this out as I have always wanted a good skin peel. This sample is .17 fl. oz. This product promises to exfoliate the dead cells from the skin and states it is gentle on all different skin types.

I also received a package that contained a TOCCA Bianca perfume and a mascara by W3LL PEOPLE. Perfume smells great and I’m looking forward to trying the mascara.

I received a bonus product which was a pack of 5 hair ties by Emi Jay. It says Emi Jay donates 20% of all of their proceeds to charity which is amazing!

Last but not least, it came with a description of all of the products included in my box along with the full size price. Overall, I was very happy with my Birchbox especially for $1. Normally, the membership is $10/month. I feel like I would need one more box to determine if the membership would be worth it for me. Personally, the only brand I’ve recognized is Marcelle but I think this is an awesome deal for those of you who are more familiar with some of these brands 🙂

The promo is not currently available but if you would like to try it out here is the site: https://www.birchbox.com.
